Victory!?

Post by Montgomery » 29 May 2022, 20:33

So proud of my little fuzzer. By himself, without being asked, without being nudged in the right direction, Montgomery got up from his sleepy cube, walked across the room, went to the litter box, and had a bowel movment. All of the bowel movent was IN THE LITTER BOX. Nobody had to say "Box, Bean," or "Litter box!" or pick him up and quickly run him over to where he's supposed to go. He just went. He knew he had to go, and he got there in time.
WOO-HOO!
Montgomery was born 20 March 2012. He eats extra lean ground chicken, lean ground pork and lean ground beef completed with Alnutrin and freeze-dried chicken liver, with hard-cooked egg. He gets two size zero capsules of Enzyme Diane's enzymes at each of his six meals, and a size four capsule of Tylan three times a day. He's a fierce little Spitfire with a roaring Merlin engine.

He got a catnip-filled paper bag for that one. So proud!

Take all the small victories you can get (although I'm not sure that getting Montgomery into the litter box is a SMALL victory).

BTW, even though I'm not a cat person and even though we have some adorable dog pix at these forums, I think Montgomery's portrait is the cutest of all.
Trixie is an Australian cattle dog or mix, likely born in the Fall of 2020. Picked up as a stray, she was already suffering undiagnosed EPI when we adopted her. Test later showed TLI <1 and cobalamin 189.

Her (non-standard) treatment is 1900 mcg of pure freeze-dried pork pancreas from Allergy Research Group per day. Also 1/4 teaspoon of slippery elm powder and 1/2 (previously one) capsule a day of WonderLabs TrinFac-B, all mixed into her food and served immediately, without the usual 20-minute wait.

We feed Canidae Angus Beef and Barley, which may not yet be the perfect food, but she's doing well and has "happy" normal poops.

The fact that he knew he needed to go in time to get where he was supposed to go was absolutely huge. He's continued to do it, too! So, so proud of him.
Thank you, I'm glad you like his picture. He looked so cheesed off at me that I had to get the camera out. Whatever his plans were for the day, they did not include getting dressed and going out...!
