Re-testing TLI

Post by KarenH » 08 Jun 2022, 15:52

Interested in thoughts on re-testing TLI.

Results at diagnosis on 11/8/21 as follows:

TLI 2.2 ng/mL (ref 5.0-35)

B12 328 pmol/L (ref 209-617)

Folate 43 nmol/L (ref 7-39)

My boy has responded very well to treatment and is back at a normal weight. He is due for vaccinations and regular bloodwork soon.

I guess I am wondering if there is a chance the EPI was temporary… probably wishful thinking :)

Thanks,
Karen

Hi Karen,

Yea..... wishful thinking.................unless your dog is a very young puppy..... .... there is no need to retest once you get a positive EPI diagnosis...

Maybe someday if/when we understand more of why it happens maybe we will figure also figure out how to possibly regenerate things or stop the atrophy! Now wouldn't that be wonderful!!!!

SO happy though to hear that your dog is doing great :)

It was because of Izzy that Epi4Dogs was started... she was the inspiration. May her legacy of helping others with EPI continue for as long as needed.........

Hi, Karen,

So glad to hear that your pup is responding well to treatment. We all hope for the day when we can figure out what causes EPI and how we can prevent it.

Keep the good news coming.

Barb
