It's been a rollercoaster the last few weeks, she was doing great previously and had been stable for 18 months. It's just reminded me of how stressful it was in the beginning trying to get an EPI diagnosis.

She gets b12 with instrinsic factor every day as well as prebiotic.

Thanks for the heads up on Tylan, appreciate it!

the fresh blood in the stool (if bright red blood) can indicate colitis, which antibiotics should clear up.. in short order....
BUT.... if the blood is dark red... please call you vet immediately... that could indicate an internal bleed (could be from the meds) and needs to be addressed sooner rather than later.........
Olesia, was owned by Izzy, a 35lb Spanish Water Dog (SWD), Diagnosed at 1.5 years old - TLI results 1.. Izzy passed away on February 13, 2020 at 15 years old. She lived with EPI for 13+1/2 years. It was because of Izzy that Epi4Dogs was started... she was the inspiration. May her legacy of helping others with EPI continue for as long as needed.........

The blood in her stool was fresh and bright red, the vet came to the conclusion the extended period of antibiotics wouldn't have helped her gut.
Unfortunately, after seeming well for a week or so Rosie went down hill again very quickly. She is currently being kept by a specialist veterinary hospital to undergo full tests to see what is causing the nervous system issues she has been having. At the moment they suspect she may have had a stroke recently.

I appreciate everyone's help to date, it means a lot, especially as this hasn't seemed to be EPI related!

I am so sorry you and Rosie are going through all this. Please let us know how she is doing. It sounds like you may be getting an answer to her recent symptoms, but certainly not the answer you would like to have.

We are thinking of you. It is so difficult to see our pups not doing well. Please let us know how she is when you can.
