Stool Regression

Hi everyone,

My girl Cyan has been stable for almost two months now and all of a sudden she's having large volumes of stool again(only in the evening though). It's still formed, but has this weird greasy casing around it (almost like an uncooked sausage). It seems to have coincided with me starting her on a new batch of pantenex but I can't tell whether she needs a higher or lower dose or if it's something else entirely. I attempted to give her 1 tbsp instead of her normal 3/4 tbsp for the past couple meals but it doesn't seem to have resolved the issue. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

What ratio of enzyme to kibble are you feeding? It should be 1 level teaspoon enzyme per 1 level cup kibble.
What food are you feeding and how much at each meal? Thanks

I did have a very similar issue myself. Pantenex was like no help at all. I had ordered 4 jars. I'm in Canada, and quality guarantee for Canadians really sucks.

I did try ordering in a single jar after. Different lot #. But never did get much "stability on it again!

She gets one cup of food per meal. I originally tried having her on 1 tbsp but it ended up being too much for her and made things worse. 3/4 tbsp was the sweet spot. She’s on Costco’s Nature Domain.
What did you end up doing when you realised Pantenex wasn’t working?

Is there a reason for 1 Tablespoon of enzyme instead of 1 teaspoon?

Too much enzyme is too much . Other factors that can produce the sausage skin jelly can be food related. Some of the natures domain recipes contain peas, which are high fibre a d upset many dogs. Then some of their ingredients are very high fat. Enzymes should deal with that , but large doses can cause irritation in the mouth and doubtless further down the guts. They are quite caustic. Better to use a food recommended by other forum members .
It’s difficult to get a balance in the first months and we have all been there !! It really helps to compare ideas, and keeps log of what you give him and what comes out the other end. Then you can eliminate reactions .

Oops, I meant teaspoon. She doesn’t get a tablespoon, that was a typo. I’ve been thinking of switching her to something else because I did notice the pea protein, despite seeing many others with epi pups using natures domain. I was thinking Crave or Taste of Wild?
