Thank you! There is a place called Greentripe and they based out of Gilroy, Ca. Their raw pancreas and green tripe seemed very inexpensive. Actually the gal I spoke to at Green Tripe was the one who referred we to this website.

Regarding Green Tripe I should have clarified I knew it wasn’t to be used in place of an enzyme was more so looking at it for overall nutrient food. Hoping to replace her canned food.

Regarding the enzyme capsules/pellets you mentioned which one is better as I noticed on Amazon one of them is quite expensive. Somewhere in the price range of $200. One seemed less expensive but wondering about its effectiveness. It appears as I attempt to decrease Raider’s amount of can food while keeping her Raw at 1oz she seems to have a bit more gas.

Would that be because she’s not get enough enzyme ratio or the raw isn’t absorbing the enzyme enough.

Can you tell me how you make your Slop? Being it’s such a small amount a blender seems to be a bit much as the meat is fairly minced and I lose some of the meat. I tried a nutra bullet which was okay. Immersion blender didn’t work so well.

Chance! I forgot to ask what vegetables do you give and do give the egg raw or cooked? Whites and yolks or just one?

Thanks Melanie

I just purchased a box.

Thanks for the info and I’ll read your previous comments about how to determine amount per feeding.

Chance can you view this attached. The bottom photo is the current enzyme amount I’m getting in the powder and the top photo are the capsules. There seems to be a significant difference.

Currently I give Raider 1/4tsp in each meal 5x per day which averages out to about 1/2 to 3/4 cup per meal.

Thoughts on how to measure the capsules?

Melanie,

The top picture is a picture of ENTERIC coated enzymes..... which is always has much less Lipase because these enzymes are protected from being destroyed going thru the digestive track... so you only need 10,000 USP units of Lipase (or more is needed)

The powdered enzymes...is always more, like 71, 400 USP units of Lipase because approx 70% of these powdered enzymes will be destroyed by the digestive pH before any gets to the right place to be properly used to digest the nutrients from the food.

Would that be one pill with each meal? This is the brand that you pill the dog before each meal, correct?

Not the one that you sprinkle on food?

If you just bought Micrazym...... that is an ENTERIC coated enzyme product. We typically recommend opening the capsule, sprinkling the little enteric coated pellets on top of "moist" (or damp) dog food so that the little pellets have something to stick to and SERVE IMMEDIATELY!!!! do not let these little pellets sit in the food for any length of time.

or

you if the above technique does seem to yield good results.... try giving the capsule whole about halfway thru the meal.

If the poos go sloppy with the above techniques, increase the amount of Micrazyme you are giving... try giving 2 capsules.

If the poos get sloppy

you are welcome!

P.S. We are very familiar with the GreenTripe company in CA..... years ago we worked closely with their sister company in GA who also provided raw pancreas to some EPI projects, worked with our researchers and provided excellent products to our members.... i just wanted to let you know that they are a highly reputable company that we highly regard :)
