Re: GSD with EPI
I first heard of Sport Dog Food from a GSD group I belong to - several members use that food and swear the poops are as close to raw feeding as you can get. I recently switched Doc to Sport Dog Food Elite Herding and he's done AMAZING on it. Again, unfortunately food can be the hardest part of EPI because what works for one dog might not work for another. So as Elisabeth said buy small bags. I also am a big believer in once you switch slowly, give the dog a good full week or two on the new food to see how they do (unless they have straight up diarrhea) because it takes time for the body to fully adjust to the new food.
Madelon, owned by DOC. DOC dx EPI 5/2015 = TLI < .4, B12 406; Folate >24. DOC taught me so much and together we battled and overcame EPI, food sensitivies, environmental allergies but we lost the cancer battle. DOC was dx with hemangiosarcoma 5/2022 and crossed the rainbow bridge July 24, 2022. He is and always will be the love of my life, my soulmate, my heart dog.
